About Great Divide Ambulance Service
Great Divide Ambulance Service is a State of Wisconsin-licensed Paramedic Level Provider with a Critical Care Endorsement. We proudly became the first Basic Ambulance Service in Wisconsin to achieve a Paramedic Level License, a milestone made possible by staffing teams of highly skilled Paramedics and EMTs.
Our transition to an Advanced Life Support (ALS) service was driven by the unique needs of our rural communities. Living in such rural communities, with hospitals miles apart and critical patients requiring immediate interventions, we recognized that bringing the highest level of prehospital care directly to the scene was essential. By investing in ALS and Critical Care capabilities, Great Divide ensures that when every second matters, our patients receive the advanced care they deserve-right here at home.
Our crews are available 24/7 for emergency response through 911 activation via the Ashland-Bayfield County Emergency Communications Center in Washburn, WI. In addition to responding to 911 calls, we provide both emergent and non-emergent interfacility transports, including specialized Critical Care transports.
